We had Youth Alive (One of the top Australian christian bands) drop by our shores today, and man did they blow us(literally) away with their brand of sound! Australian-styled praise is just so explosive, and it was really quite a mosh pit down at our humble adobe. Haha, it seems like their mantra is "If it's loud, then it ought to get even louder!" Whoosh!! After just 2 songs and my ears are ready thinking of forsaking me. The drummer really did the rolls on my ear-drums, and he played so ferciously and with such intensity that one might have thought that he had just been made a cuckold. Even during the worship, you have the feeling that the guys from Youth Alive were trying to get us to head-bang. Hahahs, nothing wrong with that because it may just be their culture. At the end of the day, it's all cool!
Food for thought is, they are a prominent band who produces their own albums so why did they sing 4 covers out of the 6 songs that they've belted out? "All Majesty" is a techno-infused beat from Planetshakers, "Take It All" is a classic from the maestros that is United Live. Hmmm....I've a conspiracy theory about this, hahahs.
